Hi,
I am planning on a solar install some time in the next 6-9 months. Im wondering are there any imminent solar panel / batteries / technologies waiting to be introduced to the market, that this group might be aware of?
Its such a fast moving industry, I would image theres many innovations going on in the background awaiting release.
I essentially dont want to invest heavily in a system, when I may have missed some other more effecient innovation that has (or about to) hit the market!!

Over the last few years solar panel efficiency has been steadily increasing while prices have been steadily falling. The same can be said for inverters and other components. Battery performance and lifespan has also improved but prices haven’t fallen as such as expected.
There is no groundbreaking new technology on the horizon which would worth waiting for unless you are interested in Vehicle-to-home (V2H) technology using bidirectional chargers (using your EV to power your home). In this case there is a lot of new innovations happening.
