Solid State vs Rotary inverters | Transformer vs transformerless

I was advised that when I get solar installed I should make sure I get a solid state inverter not a rotary. (I gather this is like the HD on a computer). I can’t see any specs when I look at inverters that give me this info. Are rotary inverters now out moded?

I think it is outdated, although I don’t remember them being rotary, I do remember ridiculously heavy ones which I thought was due to the transformer.

I don’t think it’s something you need to worry about, especially if you go with a brand in our Best Inverter article:
