I came across this forum while looking for a solution and wanted to see if anyone had advice.
The voltage from the grid sometimes randomly dips under 190, often in the mornings. It often quickly recovers. Sadly, the electricity goes with it. I get so many power outages because of that. Nothing happens when I go off-grid.
I have an inverter from AOHAI (AH-4.6KSL-G2) and a battery.
I was thinking of changing the settings to ‘battery priority’, or maybe having someone install an Automatic Voltage Regulator. Any advice on what to do? I have been struggling with my system for a couple months now but nothing seems to work.
I don’t know if this is a global issue but I expect the answer is yes.
Personal experience in Spain. The grid infrastructure is totally overwhelmed by the number of people installing grid tied systems and flowing excess production back to the grid. Distribution networks are unable to handle the flow back, cable sizing is inadequate and voltage set points too high because demand outstrip capacity of supply.
Grid voltage at my house is regularly 190 in the summer and 250 in the winter. Supposed to be 230.
I find that the only solution is to disconnect from the grid and allow your inverter to work as designed at the voltage you have selected.
Not a good solution but until grid providers spend some money on infrastructure it’s where we all are.
