I’m new to solar, but have just purchased and EV, have a pool, ducted AC and a heat pump. I’m a domestic high energy user in Brisbane.
I have a quote from Quality Solar Systems, but the reviews are highly variable and I am worried to pay a deposit after reading the reviews.
They have quoted
13.2kW Solar system with 7.36kW EV Charger
Trina Solar Vertex S+ TSM-440NEG9R.28 (440W)|30|(incl.)
Fronius Primo GEN24 10.0 (AS4777-2 2020) (10kW)|1|(incl.)
Fronius Home 22 J (1 Phase)|1|
Total price 10390.
My main concern is if I can trust this company with variable reviews to actually install and do the right thing. They were recommended to me through SolarQuotes, but even on SolarQuotes website, many of the reviews are terrible.
Congrats on the EV and going solar—super cool! I totally get the jitters about the mixed reviews. Quality Solar Systems has some sketchy feedback, so maybe worth getting another quote or two for peace of mind. SolarQuotes is usually solid, but your gut feeling matters too. Better safe than sorry, right?
The equipment listed in the quote is all very good, especially the Fronius GEN24 inverter and charger, and the price is also extremely competitive.
Do you have a very simple, straight colour-bond roof and easy access to the switchboard? This might be why the quote is so good. There’s always some level of risk, but if it’s a simple installation they will likely do a good job.
Did you get any other quotes?
Yes, I had 4 other quotes. This was the best. It seemed too good to not use them, but the reviews worried me. I think the installation is pretty straight forward with the EV charger right next to the power board and open ceiling in the garage straight to the switch board. It seems most of the bad reviews are from a long time ago and are in regional centres. I think I should go with them.
Yes, I’d go with the quote. Feel free to post some photos here so we can assess the installation.
Hopefully, it all goes smoothly.
