Passive solar is a wonderful thing. It is about utilising the sun’s energy simply by smart design. It is possible to massively reduce the energy needed to heat and cool a building by facing it in a certain direction, and designing it in a way that allows maximum sun in the winter and minimum in the summer. There are so many beautiful applications of passive solar dating back to many millennia BC.
